Balmattum Hill, overlooking Euroa township, is a popular walking spot for many locals. On this occasion, the hill recently hosted a drawing workshop attended by those who already know it and others from as far as Melbourne, Tallarook and Nagambie.
Local artist, Ann Cremean, shared her skills and passion for sketching amongst the granite tors of Strathbogie Ranges. Using the rotunda as a base, workshop participants made etchings on rocks and also explored further up the hill, finding locations to sit and sketch.
An assortment of artworks were created, then shared and discussed later in the day. These ranged from ink and charcoal drawings, rock impressions, abstracts that began with an elaborate rock etching and landscapes taken from the spectacular vistas.
